The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry concluded its District-based Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) Outreach Camps on February 7th in Bankura and Purulia, and on February 16th in Birbhum, Purba Bardhaman, and Paschim Bardhaman.

In collaboration with the State Bank of India (SBI) and IFFCO, the Chamber organized informative sessions aimed at enhancing the knowledge and capabilities of FPO members. SBI experts elucidated loan and funding policies tailored for farmers, while IFFCO conducted sessions on fertilizers and sustainable agricultural practices.

The camp held in Bishnupur, Bankura, witnessed participation from over 40 FPOs spanning Purulia and Bankura districts. Similarly, the Bardhaman camp on February 16th drew nearly 50 FPOs from Birbhum, Purba Bardhaman, and Paschim Bardhaman.

SBI continued its support by providing informative presentations, focusing on various funding options available to FPOs and emphasizing agro-infrastructure funding aligned with project requirements, simplifying the loan acquisition process for farmers.

IFFCO, renowned for its expertise in agricultural education, conducted interactive sessions on sustainable farming techniques and the appropriate utilization of fertilizers.

The Bengal Chamber of Commerce remains dedicated to facilitating grassroots FPO outreach in the rural regions of West Bengal, aiming not only to provide access to essential services but also to foster a robust network of FPOs across every district in the state. The Chamber's efforts have yielded significant success, with over 400 FPOs and nearly a thousand farmers participating in the ten camps conducted.
