7th Edition of Health Tech 2024, 1st March, 2024, The Park, Kolkata
The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the 7th edition of Health Tech Summit on 1st March, 2024 at The Park, Kolkata. PwC India was the Knowledge Partner.
The theme this year was “Innovations and Disruptions in Healthcare and Bio Technologies”. A Thought Paper on “Understanding the impact of GenAI on the Indian healthcare ecosystem” was released at the Summit by PwC.
This year the scope has also been extended and biotechnology has been included with health technology.
With growing life expectancy aided by Healthcare advancements and also due to other factors, like pollution and lifestyle, importance of healthcare is gaining more and more importance for an equitable society. Healthcare can only perform with biotechnology advancements.
The 7th edition brought together stakeholders of Biotechnology, Healthcare, Technology and of other relevant players together where they shared case studies, discussed and collaborative networking had taken place.
In the Opening Session the Welcome Address was delivered by Mr. Gautam Ray, President, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & President - Corporate, RPSG Group. Mr. Arnab Basu, President Designate and Chairperson, IT Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Advisory Leader, PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt Ltd delivered the Theme Address. Dr. Rupali Basu, Managing Director and CEO, Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital Limited was one of the esteemed Guests and Speakers of the Session and deliberated on ‘Future of Healthcare Management - trends in Digital Advancements’. Mr. Rana Dasgupta, CEO - Eastern Region, Apollo Hospitals Group deliberated on ‘Culture of Excellence in Hospitals’ at the Opening Session.
Special Presentation – ‘Innovations in Medical Gas and Devices to revolutionize Patient Safety and Care’ was made by Mr. Anirban Sen, Head of Healthcare – India, Linde India Limited.
The 1st session was on ‘Changing Paradigm in Geriatric Care’ was moderated by Mr. Aninda Das, Vice President - Marketing, Infinity Infotech Parks Limited and the panellists were RJ Arvind, Radio Presenter and Programming Consultant, Ms. Nilanjana Maulik, Secretary General, Alzheimer's and Related Disorders Society of India, Calcutta Chapter, Ms. Sukanya Chakravarty, COO, InvictIQ, Ms. Geetanjali Sen, Academician & Author and Dr. Dhiresh Kumar Choudhury, Geriatrician & Social Activist, Social Entrepreneur, Columnist & Poet.
The 2nd session was on ‘Innovations in Health and Bio Technologies - Inculcating the Spirit.’ Mr. Sayantan Chatterjee, Executive Director, PwC moderated the Session and the panellists were Dr. Satyajit Bose Chairperson, Health Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Chairman, The Mission Hospital, Ms. Sandhya Kaushik Chief Business Officer, Jagannath Gupta Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Dr. Bhupesh Dewan, Director - Medical Services, Zuventus Healthcare Ltd., Dr. Sudeshna Lahiri Deputy Medical Director, Ruby General Hospital and Prof. (Dr.) Subhrojyoti Bhowmick, Clinical Director, Research and Academics, Peerless Hospital, Kolkata.
The 3rd session was on ‘Gen AI - Research to Wellness’ and was moderated by Mr. Rajiv Sabharwal, Partner, PwC and the panellists were Dr. Shanta Dutta Director & Scientist G, ICMR-National Institute of Cholera & Enteric Diseases, Mr. Debashis Majumdar Country Head, Fujisoft India, Ms. Suparna Sengupta, Chief Executive Officer, IQ City Medical College & Hospital, Durgapur.
The final session for the day was on ‘Enabling Investments in Health and Bio Technologies’. It was moderated by Prof. (Dr.) Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay, Chairperson, Biotech and Pharma Committee, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry & Vice Chancellor, Sister Nivedita University and the panellists were Dr. Debasish Dutta, Chief Executive Officer, Kolkata Biotech Park, Dr. Sangita Majee, Head, IKP-PRIME RTTO, A-LABS, IKP Knowledge Park, Hyderabad, Dr. Barun Kanta Bhattacharyya, Manager - R&D, East India Pharmaceutical Works Limited.
The Summit was attended by more than 200 delegates across the city and also from other parts of the State.
