New Age Infrastructure: Knowledge Conclave: Transforming India with Innovative Infrastructure Solutions, 18 January 2024, Bhubaneswar


The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I), organized ‘New Age Infrastructure: Knowledge Conclave” on 18th January, 2024 at Bhubaneswar. The theme of the Conclave was “Transforming India with Innovative Infrastructure Solutions”. 

The ‘New Age Infrastructure: Knowledge Conclave” brought together industry stakeholders from all over the country to have insightful discussions and collaborative explorations in transforming India through series of innovative solutions. The private sector, Government bodies, academia and every stakeholder play a pivotal role in shaping the shared vision. There is leverage of collective knowledge, experience and expertise to pave the way for a new age of infrastructure that not only meets the current needs but also anticipates and adapts to the challenges of the future.

Mr. Dip Kishore Sen, Ecom Member & Advisor to CMD for Development Projects, Minerals & Metals, LTSSHF & L&T Aviation, Larsen & Toubro Limited & Chair, National Infrastructure Committee, BCC&I delivered the Opening Address. 

The total capital expenditure in infrastructure sectors in India during fiscals 2020 to 2025 is projected at Rs 111 Lakh Crore. Also, the aim is to become a 5 Trillion Dollar economy by 2027 and to become a 30 Trillion Dollar economy by 2047. So today India stands at the cusp of a new era where the interplay of technology, sustainability and inclusivity will define the very fabric of the urban and rural landscape. Thus, the Conclave explored how the urban landscape is evolving and how we can map infrastructure solutions that align with the vision of future India. The Conclave focused on digital data and AI which will be instrumental in building the foundations of tomorrow making our infrastructure smarter, more efficient and responsive to the need of rapidly advancing society. The Conclave had discussions on multimodal transport, Gati Shakti and their impact on the supply chain which underscores the importance of connectivity and logistics in our developmental narrative. The discussions also delved into InvITs recognizing them as potential game changers in infrastructure financing paving way for sustainable and scalable projects that can meet the demands of a growing economy. The session on mobility explored how innovative solutions can enhance accessibility, connectivity and ultimately the quality of life of our citizens.
