The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) organized an Interactive Session with Ms. Alessandra Carreon, Commissioner for the Michigan State Public Service Commission on 11th July 2024, at the Chamber premises.

Ms. Alessandra Carreon is the Commissioner for the Michigan State Public Service Commission. Previously, she was a manager in carbon-free transportation for RMI, a nonprofit working to secure a clean energy transition. She led projects focused on affordable and accessible electric vehicle adoption and charging. Her work aims to accelerate global transportation electrification while ensuring equity across the battery value chain. She formerly led Ford Motor Company's Responsible Material Sourcing team and spent years in environmental, social, and governance roles.

From the U.S. Consulate General Kolkata, Mr. Anutosh Biswas, Public Engagement Coordinator and Ms. Sucharita Bhattacharjee, Public Engagement Specialist accompanied Ms. Carreon.

The Session focussed on the future of Electric Vehicle and its impact on the environment. The deliberations included thoughtful ideas and insights to better understand the current state and future potential of this important technology. The transition to electric vehicles is a critical step in addressing climate change and creating a more sustainable future.
