Programme on “Revolutionizing Supply Chain Strategies”, 15th December 2023, The Bengal Chamber premises


The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) and Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM) Kolkata, jointly organized an industry connect programme on “Revolutionizing Supply Chain Strategies”, on 15th December 2023 in Kolkata.
The focus was on how redefining the Supply Chain, business growth may be achieved Enhancing profitability is possible by leveraging the supply chain. Integrating Supply Chain with Information Technology and artificial Intelligence is the need of the hour. 

Mr. Arnab Basu, President Designate, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Advisory Leader, PwC India gave the opening remarks and mentioned that The Bengal Chamber has been engaging in supply chain space to facilitate members and stakeholders on compliances, strategies and global practices. Implementing green supply chain management practices is essential for import-export which also includes reduction of carbon footprint, sustainable packaging and waste management, ethical sourcing, and fair trade among other aspects.

Mr. Koushik Roy, Chairman, Indian Institute of Materials Management, Kolkata Branch mentioned that the workshop is a learning drive designed & dedicated to the SCM professionals to appraise them about the cutting-edge strategies of SCM towards enhancing profitability. IIMM through its wide network throughout the country is imparting Materials Management education & also providing MDP and consultancy services to Corporates & MSME’s.

Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Former Head of Supply Chain , PepsiCo, Project Management Consultant and business Strategist, Secretary and faculty at Indian Institute of Materials Management; Mr Sajal Das, General Manager (Procurement), Linde India Ltd. and Mr Sudipto Basu, Former Regional Head of Materials, Hindalco, Blue Star, Sterling & Wilson and Chairman MDP & Consultancy Services and Faculty at Indian Institute of Materials Management were among other notable speakers.

Altogether, fifty-four industry representatives from public and private sector organizations came together to take the learning. Coal India Limited, one of the renowned Navaratna Companies of the public sector, joined to support in making the industry future-ready, equipped with new dynamics of global supply chain patterns, compliances, tools, and practices.
