5-a-Side Football tournament for Schools, Colleges, and Universities, 19th and 20th of December 2023, Techno World School ground, Siliguri


The North Bengal Committee and The Sports Development Committee of The Bengal Chamber have organized a 5- A -Side Football tournament for schools, colleges, and universities on the 19th and 20th of December 2023 at the Techno World School ground, Siliguri.

Day 1

8 schools participated in the tournament on the 1st day of the tournament (19th of December). The teams who participated were Techno India Group Public School (2 teams), Delhi Public School, Siliguri, Auxilum Convent School, Lime Light Senior Secondary School, Bagdogra, Birla Divya Jyoti School, Army Public School (Sukna), and Doon  Heritage School.

After some very exciting knock off matches the semi-finalists were Techno India Group Public School, Delhi Public School, Siliguri and Lime Light Senior Secondary School, Bagdogra and Army Public School (Sukna). 

An extremely exciting match was played in the final between Lime Light Senior Secondary School, and Army Public School (Sukna). The Lime Light Senior Secondary School, Bagdogra emerged as winners and picked up the Winner’s Trophy.

The prizes were handed over to the teams by Mr. Subrata Dutta, Chairperson, Sports Development Committee, BCC&I, Chairman, The Indian Football Association & MD, The George Telegraph Group,  Mr. Tanmay Banerjee, Co-Chair, Sports Development Committee, BCC&I &Director, RT Network Solutions Pvt Ltd., Mr. Debdut Roy Chowdhury, Director, Techno India Group, Mr. Bhaskar Roy, Vice President Techno India Group, Ms. Mira Bhattacharya, Director Techno India Group World School and Mr. Manab Pal, Managing Director Shree Balaji Group and Managing Committee Member , The Bengal Chamber.

Day 2

20th of December 2023 was the second day of the tournament. The 8 teams who participated were Siliguri Institute of Technology (2 teams), North Bengal Medical College (2 teams), Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy Government College, Inspiria Knowledge Campus, and Indian Institute of Legal Studies.

The semi-finalists were:

  • Siliguri Institute of Technology - Team 1
  • North Bengal Medical College - Team 2
  • Insipiria Knowledge Campus 
  • Indian Institute of Advanced Studies

Finalists were 

  • Siliguri Institute of Technology - Team 1
  • Insipiria Knowledge Campus 

Insipiria Knowledge Campus won the finals.

The prizes were handed over to the teams by Hon'ble Deputy Mayor of Siliguri  Shri Ranjan Sarkar, Mr. Subrata Dutta, Chairperson, Sports Development Committee, BCC&I, Chairman, The Indian Football Association & MD, The George Telegraph Group,  Mr. Tanmay Banerjee, Co-Chair, Sports Development Committee, BCC&I &Director, RT Network Solutions Pvt Ltd., Mr. Debdut Roy Chowdhury, Director, Techno India Group, Mr. Bhaskar Roy, Vice President Techno India Group, Ms. Mira Bhattacharya, Director Techno India Group World School, Dr. Sandip Sengupta, Dean, North Bengal Medical College and The Bengal Chamber North Bengal Committee member and  Mr. Manab Pal, Managing Director Shree Balaji Group and Managing Committee Member , The Bengal Chamber.
